Backtesting
One of the best investments I’ve recently made is ForexTester 3. The software enables me to make trades based on historic data, with real time effort. I literally can take trades from 1993 to today without eventually waiting for that long. As you all know, I haven’t yet figured out my sweet spot and so I am currently testing different strategies that I might be able to try out on a live account once successful on simulator. Yesterday I had a great eye opening chat with my best friend. He wants to start learning drums. Since he never really played any instrument and at the same time I’ve played in bands for 5 years and know how long it takes to become a drummer, I explained that it’s essential to start from the notes on the drumpads instead of going to play the whole set at first. This makes so much sense as I am still just starting out and already comparing myself with those who have been trading for 10s of years in a row. I am the newbie drummer. I must aknowledge it. The first thing in learning is realizing that you don’t know shit. I don’t. But I will figure it out and I will succeed in achieving the end goal.
