Few learnings from NZ

Today exactly month ago I arrived to Auckland. Was exciting. Like new beginning or so. Does it feel like this now? Yep. It does. Even now, after 30+ days have passed by.

Key learnings so far? There are many. Here’s some of them.

1. Never jump into something you have no idea about with two feets at once — got this lesson while I was involved in flipping cars. When another Estonian said he was into cars and dealing with them here and how easy it is to do that, I was pretty much hoooked. He was buying them from the auction and selling for at least 1.5x fee. So I tried it as well and even though I got a good deal, it broke down. Then, suddenly I realized that there are many other factors that I didn’t know about the market. One of them is that the cars are sold for really c h e a p prices as they have 0% import fees. It wasn’t that easy as I thought. If anything is too easy, it might be considered as a fucken scam. The same with FX that I am currently dealing with. I jumped in maybe too early, having not yet figured out even the basics. Always start with the basics.

2. The fundamentals first — It is always good to learn the basics. Here is another example — I set a goal of learning a backflip on a flat ground. What I did was that I tried to do as many backflips on trampoline and then tried to do it without taking a jump. Then I went to flat ground and it started all over again as I’ve never had the certain muscles trained for that. Now I am on the verge of my first ever backflip. I promised publicly to show it before leaving my Airbnb on next Sunday. I will do everything to accomplish it by then. Thing is that if I’d started with just plain jumps and the fundamentals, technics , I’d already be landing it. But not yet, as I tried to take the shortcut.

3. Living in NZ is advantage — for those who want to be international guys. Like I do. Why is it advantage? Because it is the most shocking environment to learn English. It’s soooo fucking clean accsent here that you barely do understand what they are talking about. Even more on the phone — you need to be native to talk with them on the same level as they do.
I do understand clearly what they are talking (most of the time), but when it comes to talking, I am not yet confident enough to talk with them on the same level. With the same intensity, the same pace. I think it is crushial in order to become great in speaking English, because it’s the thoughest environment you can be in every day to learn it and become somebody who just speaks without thinking. I will be native English speaker by the age of 27. Patience.

4. Shit can happen, even to me — lol. To be honest today was the second time I was being almost forced to leave my Airbnb as the host is somebody who is absolute freak when it comes to rules. The first time Sarah wanted me to leave was because I broke a small part of jakuzzi which was mended plus I jumped a hole into trampoline surrounding net. Both were paid & fixed afterwards. Yesterday we arrived at 3 o’clock in the morning and were quiet, not talking, but eventually she heard us coming and woke up, started to write down things why we should leave before the inital date and in the morning she told us that we need to leave earlier. :D upsie!
I apologiezed and played on her emotions in order for us to stay. She hopes it will be the last time she needs to force us out. Let’s see. :)

5. One of the best decisions so far — Yay. Definitely it is one of the best decisions so far that I made in my life to come here.
First of all, the weather have been pretty badass compared to shitty one in Estonia where everything stays the same whatever time of the year it is.
Second, my energy level is increasing from day to day. Maybe because of a great streak of meditations or something else, but it’s wrking. :)
Third, my overall life quality have improved — I have better conditions to live, a better house, a kick-ass convertible car, more money, healthier life. I am learning. Evolving.
Good good good decisions were made back in April. And it’s just a beginning. :))

It’s 23.42 now, today we are going to sleep in the car because we went for a hike today and now somewhere in between the jungle, rain is falling on the roof of our car, my best playlist is playing and errything is good. Bright future ahead but need to be patient and work hard. Harder than I have ever worked. I have absolutely no doubts I will succeed.
